Tuesday Tidbits....

Hope things are going great out your way. It is a cloudy day but nice and not too hot.
I am going to have my cataracts removed in August and that makes me happy. Can't wait to get it over with.
I haven't been sewing this week. I did receive the pillowcases from the swap at BC. These were from Barb McF.  She said she is making some like these for her and her DH.
I made hers in some of my favorite colors too. The blue looks faded in the photo but it is a rich medium blue.
I made chocolate chip cookies this morning. Since it is cooler I thought why not?
Our county fair started last weekend and they have had good weather so far. We did have some bad storms on Sunday night and there was wind damage around town. But we had some good rains which were really needed. I bet the farmers were glad. It won't be long before the state fair starts. July is going so fast.
Have a great evening

Happy Saturday....

Hope this finds you doing well. We got lucky and had 1 ½" of rain yesterday. The grass was needing a good drink. My DH has been watering the front yard so now he can quit that for awhile.
Today we took a ride in our 1956 Chevrolet out in the country and stopped at some old friends' house.
It wasn't so hot when we took off but on the ride home it was starting to heat up. LOL We stopped at Culver's and got tenderloin sandwiches and took them home to eat in the AC.
He has had this car since 2004  after his best friend died, to give him something to do and keep busy. He has done a lot of  work on it and it keeps getting better every year.
My DD didn't come over today they are having the root beer float sale at her store and they always ask her to work those Saturdays.
I haven't done any sewing this week but I have found an applique pattern I really like and may make that soon.
I am reading a book about West Virginia coal country and it is very interesting and hard to put down.  The author grew up in those hills from what I can gather. Kaaren is having a BOM featuring Raggedy Ann and Andy; it is a 10 month BOM. starting soon so check it out.
Have a great evening

July 2nd

We have been having wonderful weather cool nights, sunny days and no humidity. BUT it is coming back over the weekend.
I have been working on a pair of pillow cases for a swap and will probably mail out next week.
I am also doing a quilt a long at SQA for a 48" square quilt the pattern looks pretty easy since it is patchwork. I am not too good at that but want to do more of it. This pattern has templates.
My DD isn't coming this Saturday she is working and then they are having a cookout on Sunday.
She didn't ask me this time and that's okay she knows how it is with her Dad who refuses to eat off of them.
I found out this morning that our Walmart does have some crafts left so tomorrow I am going to check it out. They say it is a pretty large dept; so we  will see.
This is the cute pincushion I received in the swap at BC.  The bottom is glass and is filled with pins with colored balls on them. She did a wonderful job on it. She also sent the rest of the fabric.
The Hounddog picture was cross stitched by a lady I had on a crochet swap years ago. My nickname on there was Hounddog so she made this cute thing for me and even framed it.
I hope all of you have a wonderful July 4th and that you stay safe. Darlene
