It has been a cold windy and cloudy day - again!! We did have a few nice days this week and even some Indian summer.

I received another doll quilt for October and it is so cute. It is from Amma and I love it. Thanks Amma.
I am signed up for the Nov-Dec doll quilt swap but that is all I am doing til the end of the year. It will be secret this time no partners which will be interesting.
I have been helping another girl with making 1/2" hexagons for her baby's quilt. They are so small she needed help and several of us are making some. You all have to stick together in rough times LOL.
I went to a nice luncheon at Britgal's house on the 22nd and it was nice to see my new friends. I met 3 newer ones from Akron and Medina besides the ones who live around Columbus. She had lasagne and we all brought something. We had a white elephant swap and show and tell too. It was fun.
I don't think I will ever be as good as some people at piecing I really prefer applique work.
DD was here today and we had cheeseburgers and macaroni salad. We watched like 3 movies on Lifetime they are finally getting some new ones.

Verandah Views finished

Here is my little quilt I finished some time ago. It's not per directions as I used the same fabric for the block borders and that way I didn't have to buy new.

Beautiful Ohio has turned into cloudy Ohio. Hopefully the weather will improve soon.

My dog Maggie has been getting me up really early in the mornings. I try to lay back down but she insists I get up and let her out. I am talking 3:30 am. Then she has to eat and by that time I am wide awake making coffee.LOL. Here she is a couple of years ago. Thanks for reading

More clouds....

This has been a pretty quiet day went to library and did laundry.

I have been working on a small log cabin challenge quilt and boy it turns out wonky every time. I have ripped out 3 of the blocks 3 times but no more. I have what I assume is good enough put together but will not quilt it. It was a practice piece LOL.Here they are before I ripped out and started over.
I want to put together the Christmas blocks I did from Gail Pan. But I have plenty of time.
I am meeting my friend Karol for pizza Friday at Cici's we haven't been there for a long time. DH won't go there much.

Cool Ohio and cloudy....

Another cloudy day here rain is on the way they say and heavy. I have cut out my fabric for my doll quilt challenge. I have never done a log cabin before but I think I will like it when I get going on it.
I have several dolls and these two I have added this year. The one on the top is 32" tall & I got her at an antiques mall near Springfield. The other one with Pancho I bought from a thrift store on my first trip there. They were having 50% off day on everything and I had a ball looking.
I have my doll quilt finished for Amma at the Board but have to get some other things to send her. She lives in Washington state. I have met some really nice people on these forums.
I am going to a potluck at Britgal's house in 2 weeks. I will see the ladies that were here for the quilt show downtown.

A cloudy Friday....

What a yucky past 2 days here. At least it isn't raining now.

I did receive my doll quilt from Ninnie and it is so cute. The white blocks are embroidered.

The star fabric and thimble charm are nice too.

I guess I will join in on the October swap too. Chele talked me into it since I am one of the "veterans".

When I was first married I did a lot of embroidery and am self taught. I also have done a lot of x stitching but the eyes aren't as good now.
Have a great evening

Cloudy days are here again. Went to breakfast and then the bank. Wanted to stop at Walmart but went right past it. LOL

This is a photo of the doll quilt for my partner Ninnie from NC she said she loved and it was fun to put together. I haven't received mine yet.

I also finished a doily called Spring Time for a CAL at Crochetbox. It was really technical but I finally nailed the tricky part That is it above.
Have a great day and thanks for reading.

Sunny blue skies today

It has been a wonderful day and I have gotten a lot done. Finished two small quilts, started a doily for a CAL and went to the library to replenish my book supply.

On Saturday I received my mini fall quilt from Holee. She did a wonderful job and even DH thought it was a beauty. She also sent two pretty pieces of fabric a pattern to make ornaments and some cut Christmas buttons. Thanks Bea.
When you watch TV do you get tired of all the preaching the talkers do? What I mean is they tell you how to do everything from how to dress for the weather "carry an umbrella", what to look for when buying a car or anything; I get so tired of this.
