The New Year's day is gone and now for the onslaught of more winter. It snowed overnight and the wind is really blowing.
We watched some games but mostly I watched Lifetime movies in the kitchen.
Maggie and Pancho are getting along pretty well, much better than I thought they would. The cat jumps over Maggie and it happens so fast she doesn't know what to think. She has only gotten mad at him once and it was his fault for squeezing her face in his paws. I am going to try and trim his nails today. He isn't a destructive cat and I will not have his claws removed.
I have finished my dark red doily but have to starch it and block it, is really pretty. Now I am going to make a Valentine pin doll for a swap at Crafter's Community. They asked me to moderate so I am on for Cross Stitch and Embroidery, and Computer Help. They are a bunch of nice ladies there. Have a Happy New Year folks.

Well the big day is almost here. I just have to wrap the packages and put them under the tree. I have made cookies - spritz, sugar cookies. Magic Cookie bars. fudge, etc. I will probably make some peanut butter fudge next week too.
We have a new member of our family his name is Pancho and he is 1 year old. He is a gray and white tiger cat with mitten paws. We got him at the Humane Society Sunday and he is doing very well. He was already litter trained. Also he communicates with me very well. I can almost tell when he is hungry or wants to be held. Our dog Maggie was a little upset at first but she has accepted him and ignores him most of the time. They have played a lot and the cat swats her in the face but Maggie can't feel it because the cat only weighs 7 pounds. LOL. This is the first cat I have had and I am old but I am really happy I picked him because he fit right in. I am posting his photo.
Have a great Christmas if you happen to read this beforehand

I had to frog the Bell doily I had one too many bells in it. So I am starting over. I enjoyed making it so I don't mind doing it again.
DD daughter was here today we had chili and brownies. Saw the cat Liza when we took her home, what a sweetie.
I have more cards to do tomorrow for some other friends. Have received a few so far.
Penney's sent me a $10.00 certificate to use on any purchase of $10.00 or more. How sweet was that? Anyway we are going to Tuttle Monday and do more shopping.
It has warmed up and a lot of the snow has melted and now it is sprinkling.

More snow today and sleet. DH has started decorating outside, I guess he is in the Christmas spirit. Will put up the tree Sunday.
I have been busy with the Bell doily and it is big 27 rounds. Not hard at all but a lot of 5-ch groups in it. Hope to get it blocked and starched by Sunday.
Sent out a bunch of cards today mostly to my friends at the Mania they live all over the country so it is fun.
I have 1 more gift to send out for Secret Pal at FrostyFriends. Mine should be coming anytime I heard from my sender for the gift exchange.
I also want to make some salt dough ornaments next week. I also have other things to make like potholders for friends.

Well it was a nice Thanksgiving and all of the leftovers are gone. It has turned very cold but at least it was sunny all day.
Haven't heard from any family but my friend Nancy called me Thurday morning. Things are pretty slow.
Went to Kmart and got my shopping started at least. It wasn't really crowded but busy.
I am making the Snow Doily and I think it is going to be pretty. Stacy at the Mania received the snowflakes I sent her for the swap and really liked them; the ones she sent me are so pretty too.
I told her how to stiffen them using Stiffy it works great especially on small items.
Several people in the neighborhood are already decorated for Christmas and it isn't even December yet. I will wait until the second week in December to decorate. I then always take them down on the 26th.
I also mailed to Tina at FFF her gift exchange gifts I hope they are still in one piece when they get to Louisiana I wrapped everything as good as I could. I probably won't sign up for anymore until after the first of the year.
The photo is of my Christmas doily with beads I ordered the pattern from Epatterncentral.

It has been sort of a boring weekend even though I am making another Christmas doily and reading a good book.
The weather is pretty chilly but no rain yet. We did have a little snow the other day.
DD bathroom is all finished and she is back home she stayed in a residential hotel and the meals were even furnished. They brought her cat Liza there too because of the construction so she wouldn't be so upset. The cat did really well and slept with DD.
I finished my Star Snowflake doily and will post it. It was a really old pattern from North Dakota State U. and a textile from the German-Russian studies.
I have my Thanksgiving dinner all planned and only forgot to buy one thing a corn bread mix for the corn casserole. Something new this year for us.
The last Nascar race for the year is today hope someone new wins. It won't be the same without the red #8 out there.

Haven't been on for awhile no reason. It has been raining here all day, have stayed home all day too.
My DD birthday was yesterday and she is now 41 hard to believe but so true. She liked her gifts, made her a Texas sheet cake her favorite.
I have been crocheting a doily called Snowflake Star or something like that it is pretty time consuming but not very complicated. I am doing it in lt. blue and white. Then I will start a few gifts for Carrie's helpers.
She will be staying at the Marriott when the owners of her house come to fix the leak in the bathroom they say it might take 5 days but hopefully it will only be a couple. They are paying for her to stay there so I hope she likes living in luxury.
Everything is so expensive now in the grocery things are all 2.99 if they are not on sale. Prices have really gone up this past 6 months and it is ridiculous. Meat is out of sight.
I am posting a photo of the doll for whom I made the outfit she is so cute.
