the weather here is frightful - cloudy, cold and windy.
I have made the 13th block for the Civil War BOW it is called Little Blue Basket
I have also been working on squaring up the blocks for the quilt I am making what a job that is. 49 6½" and 36 4½". Now to cut out the rectangles to put it all together. There are 84 of those.
Anyway last week Whittles Fabrics had a special for National Quilt week and I ordered 2 sets of fat quarters for 5/set.
I got 20 fat quarters for $10.00 + shppg.
They are the nicest fabrics and add a lot to my stash as far as variety. The link is
http://whittlesfabrics.com I guarantee you will love them. They are in a small town in Kentucky.
Have a great rest of the weekend.

Happy Saturday
and happy spring which starts tomorrow.
Warmer and sunny today but rain Sunday.
I made the 12th block of the Civil War BOW from Barbara Brackman's blog . It is called Louisiana.
This one was pretty easy peasy.
I also wanted to share a photo of my Christmas cactus which opened it's blooms yesterday. Mind you it didn't bloom Christmas so maybe it is a spring cactus. LOL
There are a few more buds that haven't got to the blooming stage.
I used to have a lot of houseplants but slowly I have gotten rid of them. Some were over 20 years old and didn't look very good like my jade plant I babied a long.
I also had a ficus plant that touched the ceiling. The old plants aren't interesting after awhile.
Hope you are having a great weekend.

It's a beautiful day...
although it is windy. The temp right now is 59°.
I just finished the 11th block of the Civil War BOW at Barbara Brackman's blog. This one gave me fits and I didn't trim it for the photo very well. But it is done and I am glad.It is called Londonsquare.
My DD was here for lunch and I made us Reuben's (sans the sauerkraut for her).
I have been making the 9 patch squares for my new quilt and have only 12 to go. There are 49 and 36 4 patch. Then I have to cut 84 rectangles to complete it. On the blog Quilt Happy, Quilt Often she is offering a BOM called Home Sweet Home. It involves embroidery and quilting. You can find it here http://pacificpatchwork.typepad.com/quilt_happy_quilt_often/.
It is a lot of fun to do and not too hard.
Have a great weekend

Rain, rain go away...
and don't come back for awhile. Our backyard has water in it again. And the sump pump is going crazy.
For the first time I have purchased some Essentials thread from Connecting Threads. I have had trouble with Coats and Clark white thread ever since I got my Brother sewing machine. The white is the only color to cause me problems. Connecting is here right in town so I got my order super fast and I tried the white and it seems to be doing okay.
This is the second block in the Mystery Block challenge at QTS. We are starting the new one right away.
I made spaghetti and meatballs for supper. It was pretty good if I do say so myself. LOL

Happy weekend to all....
we are still having winter but the snow we received Friday is almost gone. It was pretty slick when we went out.
I have made the 9th block for the Civil War BOW and it was a fun one to make.
It's called Birds in the Air.
The last nine weeks have gone so fast. Today I received in the mail the 10½" Easy Angle triangle ruler. I ordered it from Wright's. I intend to get a lot of use out of it. JoAnn's didn't have one when I was there this week.
We are getting ready to do another mystery block over at Quilting to Share and I am anxious to get to it.
I have also been working on a quilt that has all 4 patch and 9 patch blocks with rectangles. It is called In the Pink but I am not using pink but yellow fabric for the rectangles. I have a million more squares to cut out.
We are having soft tacos for supper. I like them once in awhile.

Happy Saturday
we have had the nicest weather this week even reached 62° on Thursday. It is chillier today but very sunny.
I made my 8th block for the CW BOW at Barbara Brackman's blog. I really enjoyed making this one. The photo had to be cropped because the camera strap was showing.
It is fun to see all of the different combos people come up with. There are a lot of people following this blog so we are in this together for better or worse.
I recently joined another Yahoo group called Scrappy and Happy. One of the lady's from Block Central started it not too long ago and several of us from there are back. Even when you don't know someone personally you miss them when you don't read their comments and hear about their lives.
I belong to a lot of forums and sites but do have my favorites.
Have a great weekend
